Alphabetical sorting should ignore colour
Category names which have colours are shown after all other "non-colour" categories. The colour should ideally be ignored when sorting alphabetically.
So this creates an interesting problem. The color-based sorting creates an interesting effect of chromatic sorting, such that like color sections are grouped together, which I actually really, really like.
I think I'm going to make this an option as a third section sorting option.
I hadn't thought about it like that that, but the chromatic sorting does look really nice and I've grown to like it since opening this ticket :)
What would this third option look like? A Chromatic Sorting checkbox that keeps/disables the current behaviour?
Yeah, well, two fold:
-
Moving color OOB from the name so it's an actual field that can be passed into the API (and when making your own section in the UI).
-
Soring by Color then Name, where "default" color always comes first.
I need to think about it some more overall.
