Recording and tracking special envelopes
Our Church uses an envelope system which I've turned on in ChurchCRM. In addition to the regular Sunday envelopes, there are additional Holy Day ones (Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter, etc.). How do I record these payments?
I thought about adding those envelopes as Fundraisers but it's cluegy especially when recording envelop payments.
What is the goal here / what question do you need to answer?
I'm guessing the following:
- How much was donated for [Holy Thursday | Good Friday | etc]
- How many people / families used "special envelopes"
How do you differentiate the envelopes? Are they a different numbering scheme? Different color? some kind of marking?
Would it be sufficient to create separate funds, and enter those gifts according to the funds that were designated on the gift?
The goal is to record and report payments for Holy Days as well as regular Sundays.
Every year my family gets a box of envelopes numbered 999. In the box there are envelopes for every Sunday plus about a dozen more for each Holy Day. The Church Administrator will record amounts that were in each envelop. So on Easter Sunday, there will be two #999 envelopes, one for the regular weekly offering, the second is for Easter. My Family's record in ChurchCRM and on the annual statements should show our total Sunday contributions plus line items for additional Holy Day envelopes.

Can't you just assign the duplicates a number +1000 (i.e. 1999 instead of 999)?
