Missing Credit or e-deposit for Deposit types
I am working on getting the financial section set up for use in my congregation. We have some members that give electronically, but when I select deposit information, the only options are cash and check. I read through the info and can't find the options for an e-deposit on the family page or anywhere for that matter. Yet, when I run the reports, it gives me the options of selecting credit card or e-deposit. Where do i find the option or turn on the option to record these deposits?

The e-deposit code was very old and broken when we forked from ChurchInfo, and nobody using ChurchCRM had interest in the functionality so we removed the broken code (instead of leaving it in as a broken feature).
We may re-add it at some point.
Please add this feature! Ultimately it would be great to be able to import from a spredsheet or something. But entering them manually would be fine for a church our size. It could be setup exactly like the bank transactions. It just needs the option to select "Electronic" instead of bank then a "transaction number" instead of check number. It sounds simple enough. Especially right now when so many churches are starting to rely on electronic giving methods. If that's not a priority could you at least bring back the old broken code? We need the option separate Electronic giving.
@chewinga - if you want to add the old (broken) code to your own deployment, feel free to trawl through the source code - it's all freely available. I'll leave that as an exercise for you to do because we won't knowingly add broken code to the application. As @crossan007 stated, if there is enough demand and sufficient developer time to recreate this functionality, we will.
I do actually think this is worth implementing in a non-broken way.
My church has started taking PayPal domains, and we've been shoehorning them into crm as a separate bank deposit.
Not the best solution. :weary:
Thanks for your consideration!
Also note some organizations are accepting stock donations.
I'm all in favour of adding features that add value, so if you guys want to go for it, there's not going to be any argument from me. I'm just not in favour of knowingly forward-porting broken code...but pretty sure that was never really on the table anyway 😉
