other Email options please?

Is it possible to have an email option like Sendy.co included, rather than just Mailchimp? I like that churchcrm is self-hosted, so having only Mailchimp as a email manager sort of defeats the purpose.

what would you like to use Sendy.co for?

Second this, but feel we need some way to support more mass mailing options without being tied to specific ones.

We use Ghost for our website and mailing list, so being tied to Mailchimp makes that entire section useless to us unless I can figure out a workaround.

Still needs to be looked at.

This probably involves some design decisions so here's my take on this.

It might make sense to make this pluggable via a common interface. I know Symfony has this with https://symfony.com/doc/current/mailer.html .

If others want mail providers which aren't currently supported, they can contribute it to symfony and hopefully a larger community can help with maintenance.

@respencer / @DawoudIO / @MrClever / @grayeul / @brianteeman What are your thoughts on this? Also w.r.t. this extensive customization, is it time to start considering some form of plug-in system?

I'm sorry, but I find @githubber's original comment a bit odd now that I look at it again as Sendy.co is also an external service that you buy and install and that it in turn relies on an external service (Amazon Simple Email Service).

The simplest solution for ChurchCRM is to add an SMTP option (between that and Mailchimp you're covering the majority of use cases).

HI everyone, That comment was quite awhile ago when I was still learning about web dev and such. Nowadays including it would have to be at the API level I guess, as @respencer is correct... Sendy is external to any other software. With N8N it should be easy to integrate ChurchCRM members into Sendy. I guess. This whole request could be closed.
