Events not showing on calendar

Created events are not showing on the calendar If I create an event in the Events section it does not show on the calendar. If I create an event using the calendar it does show on the calendar

I want to create an event in Events and have it show on the calendar am I missing something?

There is no place in the event section to allocate the event to a public or private calendar. Can this be fixed please.

yes, but for now, use the event editor on the "Calendar" page - accessed by clicking an empty space in the calendar grid, or on an actual event.
