An email is valid for one person/family only
We need to start validating email address to ensure they are unique in the system. This is so what when we support oauth/facebook auth an email is unique
This is not universally true. As "stone-age" as it sounds, some families still share an email address. I'm open to suggestions on how to account for this.
Sharing an email is a bad idea. It needs to be assigned to one person (even if in reality it's shared).
In my mailing list I filter out the duplicates (couples/families get 1 email from me, unless they are subscribed via another email).
I've also had people disappear on another system I used, as it assumed people that shared an email address or cellphone number was the same person -- and poof! they're gone.
That all being said this may be less of an issue than it was in the past. I know of only 1 couple with a shared email address that would even know what OAuth is.
All the youngsters that are most likely to use it have their own email addresses.
This issue is stale because it has been open 30 days with no activity. Remove stale label or comment or this will be closed in 5 days.
