Inconsistent finding and replacing of missing media files

Open colanct opened this issue 1 year ago • 0 comments

Auto finding and replacing of missing media files, that are located in a different folder (typically when syncing to another device), which is mapped in the Media drawer tab, is inconsistent.

  1. Sometimes, some relocated files are found and replaced correclty when opening the project.
  2. Sometimes, switching between projects seems to trigger the finding and replacing of some files, but often not all.
  3. Often, the first use of a relocated media file in a show is found and replaced correctly, but subsequent uses of the same file in the same show are not found and replaced. In such cases, show media listed in the Media tab beneath the output preview shows two versions of the same file with different paths (the original and the new).
  4. Sometimes, files are found correctly in a first-level sub-folder (...\xxx\yyy) of the folder linked in the drawer Media tab (...\xxx) , but in other cases, the sub-folder (...\xxx\yyy) has to also be added to the drawer Media tab.
  5. Sometimes the media thumbnail in the show media list (below the output preview) is not cleared when the file can't be found. So, while a relocated media file could not be loaded onto the slide, the media thumbnail still appears in the list. This is not always the case. Sometimes, the thumbnails are blank as expected.

Thank you.
