Minecraft Launcher Freezing On Realms

I don't know much about this launcher. I've played for a little over a week now on my realm from xbox. Yesterday, I tried loading the realm and it will go through the usual "this will take a few moments, loading resource pack, building terrain..." When it finally comes to the "Let's Go!" screen before it launches the world it freezes. The screen turns grey and it freezes my Mac. Has anyone had the same issue or can help me fix this. I appreciate any help thank you!
