📜 What part of Winutil are you having issues with?

MicroWin

📝 Provide a clear and concise description of the issue.

When changing the volume mixer volume for chromium based browsers it does not populate in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\LowRegistry\Audio\PolicyConfig\PropertyStore where volume mixer settings save. Firefox based browsers however don't have this issue

🔄 Steps to reproduce the issue.

Step 1: Download the Windows 11 24H2 ISO from the official page at the bottom of the page. Step 2: Make a fresh Windows 24H2 MicroWin install with WinUtil. (I use Blanke as my username and don't fill the password) Step 3: Install created MicroWin ISO from a bootable flash drive. Step 4: Use any Chromium based browser like Brave, Chrome, Opera, ect and change the volume through volume mixer (even through the legacy sndvol.exe). Step 5: Close the browser and see that the volume has not saved and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\LowRegistry\Audio\PolicyConfig\PropertyStore does not have any new keys for the browser.

❌ Paste the full error output (if available).

No response

🖼️ Additional context.

Pull Request https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/winutil/pull/2853 seems to fix the original issue of no apps saving their volume, but doesn't seem to of fixed the state of chromium browsers which look to do something weird for adding it's key to the registry.

This is a general issue that occures somethimes and should have nothing to do with winutil. We tried fixing this issue for Microsoft in #2853, which seems to work for most but not all of the times.
