Open shomilsaini opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

No need to fetch drivers every time you format the PC.

Backup all drivers 1 click from Windows before formatting the drive & restore them 1 click.

Describe the solution you'd like

Can be done via powershell and batch script.

Describe alternatives you've considered

These work and can be added to ps1 script. https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/68426-backup-restore-device-drivers-windows-10-a.html https://www.elevenforum.com/t/backup-and-restore-device-drivers-in-windows-11.8678/

Additional context

Also, there is the batch script if anyone wants to look into.

This only does 3rd party drivers which are mostly what people need. But it can be modified to back up all drivers including windows default if needed.

You can also right-click on computer name and select add drivers to restore from the backup if there is no Ethernet to run the tool after. image

If this can just be a guide for someone it is good as well. I would like to see this in the toolbox for everyone to make use of. Makes reinstalling drivers very easy and no chances of loosing drivers for old hardware if you can't find online downloads.

Thanks
