Slow downloads and hangups with PowerShell 7 and WinUtil shortcut
Describe the bug
When launching WinUtils from a shortcut with PowerShell 7 installed, all packages download at extremely slow speed, or hang up at around 90%. Tested on two machines, both wireles and VPNs on/off. Switching back to PowerShell 5 and launching script via Terminal (not shortcut) fixed the problem right away.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior: (launch the script first)
- Go to Tweaks
- Click on Change Windowsd Terminal Default PowerShell 5 > PowerShell 7
- Run Tweaks
- Click Create WinUtil Shortcut on the right pane
- Close WinUtils
- Relaunch from the shortcut created
- On Install tab tick FFmpeg and click Install (or pretty much any other, package should not be doenloaded already)
- Observe download speeds
Expected behavior
Download speeds are comparable to other sources
Additional context
Downloadspeeds hardly go above 3 Mbit/s, the download might freeze in the process and never complete. The internet connection and/or VPN are fine. Undo PowerShell 7 tweak and download speeds get back to normal I tried several packages, some smaller one would download fine, but FFmpeg in particular will hang, WinGet reinstall will hang too, basically any package larger than 100 MB.

Sorry for the delay in an answer, but I was not and still am not able to recreate the issue, do you still experience the same problem?
Hello. AFAIK WinUtil no longer has a tweak to create shortcut for itself, thus the original repro case is obsolete. I also have not experienced this issue with normal use anymore. I think it's safe to close the issue. Thanks for bringing it up! =))
