"port uninstall tmux-pasteboard" failed to restore default cut-and-paste behavior

Open berniey opened this issue 9 years ago • 1 comments

I am using mac ox 10.10.2.

After installing tmux-pasteboard the normal cut-and-paste behavior has changed. I can no longer use ctrl-c and ctrl-v to cut-and-paste among terminal and other mac GUI app (safari for example)

Uninstalling tmux-pasteboard also failed to restore original behavior. Really really need help as I cannot really use the terminal effectively now.

I do not maintain that MacPorts port, but does not really “do” anything except provide the reattach-to-user-namespace binary and suggest some modifications to your .tmux.conf file. Check there if you see evidence of errors like reattach-to-user-namespace: command not found. While you are there, you many also want to adjust your mouse-related tmux settings (e.g. disable mode-mouse if you are enabling it).

The wrapper itself has nothing to do with how GUI applications communicate (e.g. pasteboard between Terminal and Safari), it only re-enables pasteboard access for some command-line programs (e.g. pbcopy, pbpaste, tty-mode vim, et cetera) in some contexts where they had otherwise lost that access.
