[Bug] Only half of the taskbar

Open patrickxfranco opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

Sometimes the taskbar cuts some icons and is in half, it happens randomly without me having to do anything specific, sometimes it happens when I open a new program that is not pinned to the taskbar. To get back to normal, I just open TaskXI Configurator and close it again so that the bar returns to normal, but again after a while it crashes again.

This seems to be because the TaskbarXI process crashes randomly. I've been having this exact same issue for ages now, dating back to at lest v1.0.3.0. I have not discovered any patterns to the behavior but I haven't specifically looked for one. I'm thinking it might be somewhat time-based or just some sort of memory leak.

If you are interested in the centered taskbar behavior, but do not specifically need to use TaskbarXI, then take a look at my strategy on doing so with RoundedTB instead (bit of a hacky method but stable):

A similar problem happens to me too. I wrote the details and a solution to temporarily fix it in issue #79, but to summarise, you have to change your display resolution, then revert back to the original. Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier, this is just a temporary fix.

For me an easy fix is to just open TaskbarXI again (it crashing is the reason it happened). Disabling Smooth Resize on the currently released versions (up to v1.0.4.0) seems to be the key to stop crashes, hasn't crashed on me in days since I disabled it.

i have this issue aswell, it works when setting scaling to 100%, but that aint a fix as some devices are just unusable with 100% scaling
