If the number has a * in the beginning and # in the end, that's enough to know it's a ussd code? What do you think?

Useful for network operations in 'occidental countries'. Mandatory in 'not occidental countries' like India or Africa continent like lot of services go through ussd due to lack of stable data or cost for connection.

I can confirm USSD codes are still not working in 1.0.9 version. MIUI 12 stock ROM and not rooted.

This is so useful because i am changing preferred network type by ##4636## and this is so important for me.
