Forward activities related to channels for better FEP-1b12/Lemmy support
Describe the problem to be solved
Apparently the federation with Lemmy isn't occurring nicely: https://lemmy.ml/post/9522367
Lemmy federates according to FEP-1b12, so maybe Peertube would be responsible to forwarding votes and comments to followers? Is it not implemented? If not, are there plans?
As @Chocobozzz explained:
PeerTube channels are Group because we plan in the future to have multiple accounts that can manage a channel. But they are not a forum, so we don't accept likes/notes. However I'm not against forwarding these activities if it can help Lemmy use cases.
Cross-platform integration, IMHO, are a major selling point of using the AP protocol.
Currently we have multiple cases of people posting youtube videos to Lemmy or Reddit and making the comments there. Some people even developed extensions to display Lemmy and Reddit comments into Youtube comment section.
So I think this would be amazing for content creators to have their video posted in PeerTube and it propagated into Lemmy as a topic with the video embed, and the comment section/likes synced.
This is already what happens, but the integration isn't happening, I see some comments went through and show up in peertube from lemmy, and some from peertube into lemmy, but not all.
Examples:
Peertube video comment shown on Lemmy
Lemmy comment shown on Peertube
Describe the solution you would like
It would be very cool if we could participate in Peertube channels as they were Lemmy communities.
