Gnome settings bricks lightdm

Open NeroReflex opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

It is possible to force lightdm in a state that it won't start thus not allowing either game mode nor desktop mode.

Steps to reproduce: switch to desktop, search for "settings" navigate to "users" click unlock than edit auto-login.

Copying /etc/lightdm from source code over the one on disk did not solve the issue so I had to reinstall the whole chimera os.

I am also experiencing this issue. I have been mainlining ver 45 on my rog ally for a couple of weeks. Everything has been going mostly well. I attempted to switch to desktop yesterday and it just restarted game mode. To get into desktop I used a terminal plugin and ran the following command: chimera-session desktop

by hitting ctrl t during boot I was able to get an error message to display:

Failed to Start Light Display Manager Error

by hitting ctrl alt f2 I am able to bring up terminal and run commands. I have not yet found a fix.
