Mixer app, does not remember previous volume and balance adjustments

Open Despro03 opened this issue 11 months ago • 4 comments

Hey! Each time I use Mixer (In Mint 22 Cinnamon) or reboot the PC, forget the previous level settings for each sound program (Firefox, VLC, LibreWolf, Celluloid, etc...) and the balance adjustments. Is that so? You got a deal? Is there any configuration file in which I will can adjust any options? Thank you in advance.

Captura de pantalla de 2025-01-07 18-10-20 I'd like to keep the potentiometers that way, at every start of Mixer. It's possible?

I believe this is on your OS's end, not mixer's. All mixer does is modify the current volume etc, not save them anywhere. Maybe an option to revert to what mixer last had should be added. There's a large overhaul to this app that I've had on the back-burner for a year or two but keep putting off. Maybe once I finally finish that I could look into this.

Thanks. Use in Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon Any system files I can tweak? How could you tell Mint that the mixer setting is not reset when you turn off the mixer? Could it be the permissions, perhaps? Thanks in advance.

I've not seen the OS resetting the volumes in any of my testing and I don't have any tips on system settings. My only suggestion would be to trying pavucontrol and see if you have the same issues when using that or another volume mixer.

[Resolved] I didn't know about it, but now that I've tried it, I really like pavucontrol, and I see it as a very complete app with good options. In addition, it solves my problem of balance and unremembered levels in the apps: VLC, ZapZap, Kotatogram, etc..., except on youtube and similar, which always plays at 100% volume, in several browsers, maybe because of my privacy/security options. Thank you very much for the help.
