Can you add some way for other apps to grab info from the app?

Can you elaborate? What applications would that be and in what way? There is already an export mechanism albeit it only handles XML, HTML and plain text.

I could make it export information in JSON so other applications would be able to read it without having to parse XML if that's what you mean.
