Containment from other app

Hi, 2 questions actually. I’ve seen that after a restore on another device the app is asking for a password. You still didn’t remove this screen by the way. And I was wondering if password protected an app is useful against other apps ?

And are apps in iOS fully contained ? We hear stories about social apps or others who might be able to access other apps data.
