Feature Store 2.0
ChangeWindows 7.7 introduced a Feature Store overview and 7.8 made minor improvements to it. But now that multiple versions are going at the same time yet again, it is time to throw it all out and rethink it.
The largest issue is going to be a timeline because a higher number isn't necessarily newer.
But we can create a compare feature. This would require importing all feature flags over again because right now we only register changes from one build to the next. This new feature would allow you to basically pick 2 builds listed in the store and compare their flags. Flags would be linked with their name (like they are today) which in its turn holds extra data.
We should also explore "related" flags, highlighting specific flags, and more.
Am happy to help in any way here. Would strongly consider you also make the system flexible enough to re-generate relationships/etc. when the base files change (e.g. due to corrections in mach2 code).
Mach2 has some downstream changes coming in that will improve accuracy. Automation and a Rust rewrite are in the works too.
