Show catalog names in search
When searching for an object by pressing Enter and typing its name, catalog names (HIP, HD, and SAO) aren't shown. If HR and/or Gliese cross-indexes are added, these will also be interpreted as catalog names and not shown. Showing catalog names would make it easier to search for stars.

Well, how would showing catalog names in search work?

I'm not familiar with Celestia's source code, so I don't know.
Alright, let's just wait for 375gnu to reply to us and explain it. Though the AstroDB Branch would focus on making a proper, modular database for all objects with names, so it could be done in there

My thoughts: I actually prefer this because it prevents the search bar from being cluttered up with thousands of HIP, HD, or SAO names. However, I could be convinced the other way because the same thing happens with NGC and IC. Ultimately, though, I find this to be somewhat useful because I can distinguish between names that were defined using the HIP index vs. names that were defined using quotes, like 207
vs. "HIP 207:HD 225009:SAO 10937"
.
I don't see the search bar being "cluttered" as a problem, but I do see some problems with catalog names not being shown:
- It's easier to make typos when searching for catalog names
- It confuses newbies (like in this thread where a user can't find HD 1461)
