Mac support
I suggest the the OBS plug-in will support the usage on the Mac. Especially to work as an input for Skype.
It's not a easy work to make a cross-platform project , especially driver & kernel coding. If anybody is familiar with Mac CoremediaIO , I am very welcome to help this project. Because I am still stuck in a very early step in Mac.
+1
I wish I had the expertise to help you CatxFish. Is there any other news regarding Mac support? I'll make a donation if that would help.
OBS is such an awesome and popular program and to have it has as a virtual camera on macs would be very useful for many people.
Unfortunately not a Mac programmer myself. Many other programs use Syphon for creating a virtual webcam. According to documentation it seems pretty straight forward and easy to implement. MIght be worth taking a look at it.
if you are using a mac so it's always worth to know some mac coding...
I have some programming experience (several languages, but am most comfortable with UNIX). When you say mac coding, are you talking about cocoa?
yes, for example. Mac and Unix became quietly the same kind of kernel since years now. Mac oxX is a derivative of Darwin which had his roots in Unix.
Apparently CamTwist has a virtual camera plugin. Is there a way to incorporate the plugin from CamTwist into OBS for Mac, mentioned in this article?

@m00dy how would we collect the money and how much do you need?
Money is tight in these strange days, but I would contribute $200.

@jtibbitt they are working on it. we should place the money somewhere in a pot. so it's $10'400
Someone set it up. Just verifying - if it is successfully developed into the native app, then it will work on all platforms? My interest in this is to use it in a mac.

@jtibbitt some part of this feature has platform dependent code which means that same logic needs to be implemented for each platform(win, lin, mac).
@jtibbitt for your information: Virtual Camera Support for Mac just landed in the latest version of OBS. I donated my money to @johnboiles Details
