FR: Archive status while card is open

Open G-i-o opened this issue 1 month ago • 2 comments

During time constrains and when under pressure (e.g. when at the till at the supermarket with a queue behind), typing the exact amount to bring the card to zero balance and switching to the another card can take too long.

As alternative, the card can be "Archived", without changing the balance, knowing that all archived cards have been depleted. However, currently this is also contextually time consuming and tricky.

The user need to tap on the 3-dot menu and select "Archive" but then, with the card open, there's no sign that the operation has been completed successfully (e.g. no mis-tapping by mistake), aside from the quick pop-up which can be easily missed.

To solve this, I propose:

  • Having an icon, similar to the ⭐ icon, to "Archive"/"Unarchive" in place of the 3-dot menu option.
  • Having the same icon, similar to the ⭐ icon, showing the "Archive" status.

P.S. Biggest "Thank You" for all developers for this app. Keep up the great work!

Makes sense. It is also a much more commonly used function than "duplicate", so it could be moved above the duplicate option and moved from the 3-dot menu into the top toolbar on screens where it fits, so the archive status is very visible.

We can just keep the little toast (pop-up) intact, so it is at least no worse on smaller screens :)

Great, that's exactly what I meant.

Personally, I do also use the "Duplicate" function a lot but not during time-constrained situations. So, its current place seems to fit. If anything, I would add it to the main screen 3-dot menu appearing after a card is selected and marked with a ✔️.

Specifically to the subject of this FR, having the "Archive/Unarchive" icon on the top bar when a card is open would be ideal indeed.
