can not open the app on pc at all

I've followed all of the steps in the installation guide and i cant open the app on pc or even find the app to install onto the tv... I could use some help here.

Found the solution delete the app and install the v1.2.4.11

thanks! this worked for me but now when i select install on tv with the pc app it says the remote computer appears to be off, any ideas on that?

Usually when I got those errors was either of these:

  • The send/receive ports (they should be the same, at least it's that way for me)
  • The computer's IP (launch ipconfig in a terminal, your router may have assigned a new one to your PC)
  • The service is not running. Open 'Services' and check for 'MagicRemoteService', press restart or start and wait for it to show as "Running"

I am also stuck at trying to open the "MagicRemoteService.exe". When opening the file, nothing happens. I'm using version 1.2.5.4 and I saw it was updated just minutes ago. Some help would be much appreciated. Thank you for this app!

It launches in your hidden icons tray (the little arrow in the bottom right of the screen). You can open the config screen from there
