Error while installing app (ares-install luna-send command failed)
Hey, I'm unable to install the application onto the my LG CX TV. Is there a way I can manually push the IPK file via CLI? Or is it not that simple?
This happened after my TV and to reset to factory defaults. I don't seem to be able to get the application install onto the TV again. Is there a way I can clear Magic Remote Service's application data? I noticed it loads my defaults even if I run the exe from a new folder.
I am able to add the TV in the application 1.2.4.9 and I can ping my TV from the command line using ares.
I'm also able to use WebOSDev Manager to install other homebrew applications, so I know my TV is running Dev Mode correctly. the Dev Mode app is 2.1.4 on my TV.
When I attempt to install I receive this error:
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Managed to push the IPK file manually using WebOSDev Manager. Everything is working as it should be.
For anyone wondering, when the install fails from MagicRemoteService application it still leaves the generated .IPK file under the \TV application subfolder, with a name like com.cathwyler.magicremoteservice.hdmi4_1.2.4_all.ipk
You can easily push this IPK file manually to your tv and have the magic remote service running on your PC.
Hi sir Chomby I am not too tech savvy, i cant open the MagicRemoteService on PC and have no idea what to type in to download the APK to my PC any help will be greatly appreciated.
When I attempt to install, I receive a similar error message:
As @SirChomby mentioned, I can manually install the IPK file generated under the \TV subfolder via the webOS device manager and everything runs smoothly. The "TV version" button displays the information as intended. This is a superb and very helpful application. Awesome work! It would be convenient if the installation from a PC would also be functional.
