Make wiki updates cleaner/more intuitive

I only update the wiki through the app, and I would like better wiki integration in the app. Specifically:

  • Sometimes the pictures are rotated 90 degrees. I cannot detect any rhyme or reason to this behavior, as some of the photos turn up correctly and some are tilted. Please make this behavior consistent.

  • I'd like to be able to update different sections of the wiki through the app, e.g. an additional drop down list in the submission which indicates which section of the wiki page I am updating (Location, Plans, Expedition, Photos). (Participant is almost always myself alone but you can always add functionality to add additional names there, but at the very least, this section should be autopopulated with the name of the current user).

Thanks! I'm enjoying a lot of geohashing under pandemic conditions ("Outdoor recreation" is considered an "essential activity" in my state so I'm geohashing almost every day in remote, mountainous locations and it's amazing)

Yow, I completely lost track of this the past year. Sorry about that.

  • Hm... the image getting rotated 90 degrees sometimes sounds like there's some disagreement between how the image is stored and the rotation data stored in the EXIF data (at least the default Android camera app tries to store how the phone was rotated to each picture it takes, and I'd guess other camera apps do so, too). Or rather, it might be when I shrink the image and apply the infobox in the corner, as I think the way I do it might destroy the EXIF data but use the raw, unrotated picture data. I can try to make that more intelligent, as I think I get the the EXIF from a picture before I do anything with it.
  • I had ideas to add more stuff like that to the wiki posting screen, and that's something I still want to do. Once I get around to a long-overdue complete overhaul of it, I'll keep that in mind.

Glad you're still enjoying the app! At least, I hope you are. Again, sorry that this slipped out of my view for the past year or so.

Thank you! Glad you're back to working actively on this project.
