Unresponsive UI on 21GB video recording
Description
For an interview process i had to record a 2hs long video. That turned out to be a 21gb .cap file. Now im trying to make an export of it, the Studio interface is non responding and theres no way to convert .cap to .mov or something.
Reproduction
Record a 2hs long video with machine audio, microphone, webcam, screenshare. Try opening the video on studio
Additional Context
- Cap version: v0.3.66
- Operating system, version: MacOS Sonoma 14.5(23F79)
- Device (optional): Apple Macbook 14 inch M2 Pro 16gb of ram.

Hey @ditorodev we're sorry for the issue you're having!
Until we get this fixed, you can open your previous recordings (in the settings screen in the app), click on Open Recording Bundle -> Show Package Contents
head to the output directory and you should see your mp4 recording!
Thanks @ameer2468 this worked! Managed to run ffmpeg for encoding it was a bit if a disaster but they did not really expect much from me in the edition of the video jajaja
Let me know if you guys need the file or something, more than happy to provide it, altho im pretty sure the error is that it is trying to load the entire video on memory vs buffering (totally understandable given the state of the project)
