Export audio not sync to video

Open itsstevenliu opened this issue 9 months ago • 10 comments

Description

I finished recording a video. When previewing in Cap Editor, the audio is sync to the video however when exporting recording, it is out of sync significantly. What is REALLY bad is that the audio finishes half way through the video when my video is 10min long. The audio somehow jumps all the way to the end midway through the export.

Reproduction

Just iflm

Additional Context

  • Cap version: Version 0.3.31
  • Operating system, version: MacOS 15.3.2 (24D81)

Thanks for reporting this, would you be able to share the recording bundle? WeTransfer it to [email protected] and I'll take a look

Hi Brendan, thank you for looking at this issue.

I've sent it via WeTransfer and put the GitHub issue number as the title. I'm tried exporting as 1080p 60fps and 1080p 30fps and faced the same problem.

The issue steps after the first clip, you can see in Cap editor, there is some audio issue but then in editor it resyncs itself again. But the export fully breaks.

I'd love to purchase Cap if it is functional and support the team to build Cap out further.

I noticed for the editor file I sent: at every point where videos were split, the audio went whacky. It could possibly be a problem with the pause filming functionality?

The second segment of your recording is 0.5 seconds long, and the timeline segment that was generated for it seems to be longer than the actual duration of the clip. I reduced the duration of the timeline segment to the minimum duration of the media files in the clip and there was no more audio desync. We'll have to make sure that timeline segment durations are <= the shortest file of that recording segment, and it may be worth putting a minimum duration between pauses while recording of 1-2 seconds.

@Brendonovich sorry I’m not understanding this…what do I need to do for the future (if any)?

Here's a video that explains what I found and how to fix your recording better than I could explain with text 😄 https://cap.so/s/32eyvdk6tzf7gre

I have the same issue on MacOS 15.4.1. The audio is not in sync and not rendered at all at the end of the recording

@pruthivithejan Can you send your project to [email protected] via WeTransfer? I'll see if I can find what's gone wrong

I rendered it again after updating the software, it seems to have fixed. I'll update after doing couple more videos
