Question on using ln_hyp_term_alt in beta_geo_fitter.py

Is there any documentation available / comments that can be added explaining the rationale for calculation of ln_hyp_term_alt when ln_hyp_term is inf (lines 244 to 249) ?

I am asking this because i am using MBG/NBD and am running into cases where i am getting 'inf' as predictions and was wondering if adding a similar logic would help there.
