More intelligent "Exception" applications

I have to regularly add some apps to "Exception" list. I think every time the app is updated perhaps the path of the app binary changes and then I have to re-add it to the "Exception" list. The problem looks like this:

Add applications to the "Exception" list in a smarter way. Or perhaps use wildcard or allow the user to under the path with a * in the path.
