Show only FPS meter so no need to use Debug screen
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Not really.
Describe the solution you'd like I'd like to have a separate FPS meter so I don't have to use Debug Screen (F3), similar to OptiFine's "Show FPS"
Describe alternatives you've considered OptiFine has Show FPS option that only shows FPS on left upper corner without having debug screen open. Currently using NVIDIA's overlay, but unfortunately this restricts me playing only on Windows as I mainly use Linux.
Additional context I don't know why this shouldn't be in the client options. :D

it's been 2 years and I think this would be a great addition to sodium, yes there are mods that can do this but that's not the point, these mods could stop development any time and are not reliable, unlike sodium which has become a standard mod to use for game optimization, i thin the dev should consider adding this feature since it would be easier and better than having to install a separate mod just to view fps in hud.
sudium is supposed to be mudlurer unlike optifine from what i understand so i dont think this shuold be in sudium
this is out of scope for sodium. also, sodium is not a modloader or in any way attempts to be like optifine.
A simple optional non-configurable FPS counter would be useful for a mod that lets you change graphics settings and applies graphics optimizations, so the users of the mod can easily see how the settings they changed improved the performance in practice while actually playing the game (so with the debug menu hidden).
