Capes dont load

I have a optifine cape, And when I choose Optifine nothing happens, the cape is shown in the gui but the cape does not load in game. And the optifine cape is also on Cloaks + when I do not own a cape from Cloaks plus.

this happens to me as well. I think it words with essential or something, but with like a ton of mods it never works on fabric for me. I have no idea why this happens either.

Not to mention this is still a current issue in 2024.
