[feature request] Display rotation center and object picking to set rotation center onto spot at surface

Hi, in OpenScad you can display the rotation center to have a clear indication where the view orbits around. I find this to be immensely helpful orienting in 3D space.

There would be another interesting feature which would be incredibly convenient and intuitive to orient in the void of 3D space. And that would be screen space object picking, so you could pick a surface and have the orbit (rotation center) be placed at that spot/point on the surface (together with indicator). In combination with panning and orbiting around that spot this would help people to navigate in 3D space and inspect spots precisely and intuitively. It would give them concrete and precise spots for orientation in 3D space.
