Cacti v1.2.30 - Aggregate graphs are showing under Tree root and devices

Open morganfw opened this issue 8 months ago • 5 comments

Hi @TheWitness after creating a new Aggregate graph from template including same graph from different devices, then going under "Console -> Management -> Aggregates", selecting the new aggregate graph and click "Choose an action" -> "Place on a Tree (My Tree Name)" then selecting Destination Branch: [root], the graph is showing under Tree root and under single Devices, see the following screenshots:

Tree: Image

Device: Image

The expected behavior is to have a single aggregate graph on Tree root and not under devices.

May help me to understand if is it an issue, or normal behavior? Regards

There is a setting in the users profile to hide Aggregate graphs from host Graphs. Check it and report back.

Hi @TheWitness and thank you for the reply. We are aware of the setting in the user profile:

but this is not what we expect, I try to explain our need.

Often we need to add complete devices to a branch of a tree, not individual graphs, so they also bring the aggregate graphs. Other times we need to add only the aggregate graphs to a root tree and other aggregate graphs, different, inside the device, so the user profile setting is not the right option for our needs.

You should first create an aggregate template in the template section. Then, go to Management > Graphs, select the graphs you want to aggregate, and choose to create the aggregate graph using the template. This way, you’ll get the single aggregated graph you need.

Already done. The request is the ability to put single aggregate graph under tree root or under device indipendently.
