Filter what errors are sent to the admin
Hey Guys
One thing I see a lot of is getting an email from cacti with issues like SNMP timeout detected on a stubborn device or a device that has a bad index which floods the admin email with these problems its hard to keep track of real system issues that require imitate attention say after hours
One thing that would be good if you can select what messages are sent to the primary admin like a regex or something i.e poller overrun or MySQL connection failed should be an immediate thing to look at a bad index can wait as it would only affect the polling for that single device
Such great and simple to implement enhancements. Thanks!
No no thank you I am not that great with PHP or else I would pitch in my self but you guys are always willing to help !
So, all notifications, or just admin?
I mean leaving the current log style is fine I would just do the admin
We've had requests for that too. Feeding Splunk and Elastic for example. You can siphon it from syslog, but having everything in the format that is needed by those two tools helps.
Agreed on that I say just modify the admin email portion and leave the rest as is if you are using splunk or elk etc then ingest the cacti.log file and your all good
As this is a new feature, I've moved it to the 1.3 milestone as 1.3 is where new features should be implemented.
This seems more like a Monitor plugin thing. @bmfmancini, can you confirm?
hey @TheWitness no this is for the cacti core logging Thanks !
