Support Device heirarchy to drive event correlation
When determining which hosts to poll, it would be good to be able to specify a parent of a host which could then be used with reporting and plugins like thold to prioritise hosts and determine if an alert is being caused by a device higher up in the chain.
In other words, you would like to see Cacti include answers to the $1E6 question of event correlation. It's more of a science, and we should approach it that way. We have most of the pieces now. But there is a long way to go.
Is there a way to nudge this one to see where on the roadmap it is? I'm setting up remote pollers, and this came to mind.
This function is very useful as I am monitoring over one thousand devices with Cacti. Many useless alerts need to be muted automatically, as if there is problem on the core devices, no alarms required for child nodes. Could you please add it as early as possible? Thanks a lot!
