fullscreening some applications freezes up the system

• Issue: fullscreening some applications freezes up the system, mostly gaming related applications such as native PCSX2, xenia canary running through wine, native rpcs3 etc I will test as many as I can. for example a game could be running fine only for the entire system to freeze up when I try to go full screen. trying to control super escape to kill the application does nothing, nothing works except for restarting the entire computer. audio usually plays as normal as well meaning that the system seems to still actually be functioning it's more that the display malfunctions. Strangely enough there don't appear to be any issues when running games through steam
• Actions Beforehand: was having issues with green pixels appearing occasionally as well as as screen tearing that I did not notice before
• Attempts to Resolve: updated to the latest release candidate kernel since I'm on very new hardware. not exactly sure what else I can do to troubleshoot this
• Impact: it's preventing me from using multiple applications in full screen especially emulators, and I have a feeling it is related to overall graphical issues I have been having lately, such as as I said screen tearing and green pixelation when moving windows and also the refresh rate seeming to be capped at something lower than usual

it's definitely an issue with the cachyos kernel, as I reverted to 6.16.1-arch1-1 and everything appears to be working fine except for hardware specific things like touchpad gestures, sometimes the touchpad not working at all.

6.16.1-2-cachyos, 6.17.0-r1-1-cachyos-rc, 6.17.0-r1-1-cachyos-rc, 6.12.42–2–cachyos-lts, and 6.16.1–2 –cachyos-lto also have the same freezing issue. also I guess this isn't related but realtime arch kernel is completely broken lol display completely glitches out upon logging in
