North Korea reports its first covid case today (May 11, 2022, source). We will add it to our dashboard.

News media reports 6 deaths in North Korea (source). We will post it after evaluation.

Since we could not verify whether "fever-like cases" are covid confirmed cases in North Korea, we will not report it until further confirmation from the official sources or WHO. The same rule applies to the covid deaths. Thanks!

The data is not showing up on Google yet. Can it have anything to do with the weird "Korea, North" phrasing?

I think that it's very important for researchers to have access to data on the number of probable cases as reported by the KCNA. Currently the country only has a testing capacity of about 100 people per day, meaning that the number of confirmed cases does not reflect the scale of the outbreak.

I've written a script here to scrape all the data reported by the KCNA - hopefully this is useful.
