North Carolina large spike in deaths May 4, 2022 due to death certificate review

Hello all,

North Carolina published a large number of deaths (1,172 total) on May 4, 2022 due to a death certificate review process spanning January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022. This process identified 1,146 further deaths. Moving forward, the state plans on releasing death certificate review deaths once monthly. More details available here.
