Better UI for changes list

  • user settings for the one line description?
  • colors for "+" and "-" in the list?
  • remove caret from list view
  • ~~clearer line highlighting in list view~~ (added by c39b49c)
  • ~~make sure everything fits on one line?~~ (done in 52730aa132193e110f1ff09b151b5957bba30ac7)

Good enough for the v1.0.0 release, remainder is WIBNI for a later release
