[BUG] Polypen jumps in direction of cursor

Open RaelZarin opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

Retopoflow Version: {3.2.6}

Blender Version/Hash: {3.1.2}

Platform Version/Distribution: {Blender Market?}

Issue: When in polypen mode to set a polygon, as I'm making my second click, the vertex from my first click will jump in the direction of my cursor.

I thought it might have been that I had too many polygons in the reference mesh so it was a performance issue, but a consolidated and decimated mesh is having the same issue. Pausing for a moment in between clicks works around the issue, but obviously slows down the process and is not ideal.

How to Reproduce:

switch to polypen mode, and begin placing down points quickly. This may have also started after I turned on symmetry? I turned it off after the performance hit I got, but the bug remained (if turning symmetry on was even what caused it)

Thanks for the report, @RaelZarin.

I'll take a look at it as soon as I can.

@RaelZarin, I've tried to replicate this issue, but I'm having troubles doing that.

Would you be able to share your .blend file with us? You can send it to [email protected] to keep it private.

I'm also wondering if it could be a performance issue with respect to the low res mesh, not the high res one. It looks like you might be working on a small part of a larger mesh, but I cannot see the geometry count. Does this happen if the target mesh (low res retopo mesh) is empty? in other words, if you were to hide the current target mesh and basically start over, do you see this behavior?
