Need to be able to link a specific Credential to a Course Use Case Description List the proposed element name(s), definition(s), and/or option set(s). MDE needs to be able to identify the specific Credential(s) required to teach a course and be considered in-field or qualified. Use Case Background Provide information related to why these changes/additions are needed. For the State's course catalog, we have defined the type of certificate and endorsement(s) needed for each course. When determining in-field status for Federal reporting, these requirements are checked against each teacher's credentials to make the determination. Also used for State accreditation edits. Michigan will also need elements like these and for the same purposes. Perhaps something like Required Credential Type and Required Endorsement? If a workgroup is convened to work out the details of this area, please include us.
