Use Case Title Add a new CEDS elements to capture if and what schools close due to new school opening

Use Case Background When a new school opens, NCDPI collects information on if other schools are closing as a result of the school open and if so, what schools will close. Currently this is captured in two fields: “SCHOOL_CLOSINGS_DUE_TO_OPENING” and “LIST_OF_CLOSING_SCHOOLS”.

Use Case Description When a new school opens, NCDPI collects information on if other schools are closing as a result of the school open and if so, what schools will close. Currently this is captured in two fields: “SCHOOL_CLOSINGS_DUE_TO_OPENING” is captured as “Yes” or “No”. “LIST_OF_CLOSING_SCHOOLS” is a text field.
