[Feature request] [JTCAM] "Answer this request" options

Open mlegr opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

At JTCAM, when minor changes to a paper are requested, the editor in charge can ask the authors not to upload a new version of their paper on the selected Open Archive. Instead, authors are asked to submit their new version directly on the JTCAM plateform using the "Contact without sending a new version" option shown below. However, according to us the text is not really clear and we would like to see a certain level of customization here.

List

Could you provide some suggestions in English and French?

@mlegr Did you think about suggestions to change the name of the item? (Customizing items by journal is not possible) And what about using the setting "Contributors can answer revision requests with a temporary version"?

Here is a proposal from the team:

  • [ ] Move 'upload a new version' on top of the list
  • [ ] use "Contact the editors" instead of "Contact without sending a new version"

@rtournoy "Contact the editors (with an attachment)" sounds good but the status of the paper should change as well, which is not currently the case with "Contact without sending a new version". I would rather suggest to add the new option "Contact the editors" with paper status changed, as done currently with the option "Answer without any modification". test the settings allowing using temporary version : Journal management > Journal > Settings > part "Submission parameters" > Contributors can answer revision requests with a temporary version
