[Bug Report/Feature Request] Bibtex export volume name is malformed, article number is missing

Open davidjpurser opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

The error: The Bibtex export volume field is not coming through correctly, see e.g. https://theoretics.episciences.org/13240/bibtex VOLUME = {{volume_926_title}}, I assume this is part of the template language, rather than the intended output, which should be VOLUME = {{Volume 3}}

The request: We also request that the article number (position within the volume) should be in the bibtex export, i.e. for this record it should have number = {7},

Ideally this would also be visible on the public page as well: https://theoretics.episciences.org/13240 (At the moment, I think this is only exposed by looking at the volumes page? https://theoretics.episciences.org/volume/view/id/926)

Thanks for the bug report, the bug has been fixed but I'm leaving the issue open for the feature request.

For the article number (position within the volume)

it looks like eid would be more appropriate according to page 20 of https://ftp.rrzn.uni-hannover.de/pub/mirror/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/biblatex/doc/biblatex.pdf

eid field (literal) The electronic identifier of an @article or chapter-like section of a larger work often called ‘article number’, ‘paper number’ or the like. This field may replace the pages field for journals deviating from the classic pagination scheme of printed journals by only enumerating articles or papers and not pages. Not to be confused with number, which for @articles subdivides the volume.

Sorry, yes you're right according to the specification eid is the proper field. I suspect it is commonly misused.
