[Feature request] Replying to comments by email

Hi,

At TheoretiCS we use comments on articles for discussions between editors. In many cases, when editors receive an email notifying them of a comment, they tend to respond directly to the email, instead of going to the article webpage and posting a comment there.

It would be nice if the system allowed this workflow, i.e., direct replies to an email notifying the user of a comment get posted as a comment. This is supported, e.g., by Github for email notification about new messages in issues.

It would be a nice feature, but considering the other development tasks we have, it's too much work right now. So I would suggest in the meantime we promote the reply link in the email template, to avoid a reply by email.

I understand -- having a link to reply to the comment (ideally without having to log in) would be already something. At TheoretiCS, having confused editors who directly reply to comments by email (so that the answer isn't seen by their fellow editors, but spams the editors-in-chief) is a common occurrence unfortunately.
