[JTCAM] Make the list of keywords editable

Open mlegr opened this issue 3 years ago • 2 comments

At JTCAM, when papers are uploaded on HAL, the list of keywords automatically generated/extracted by the Episcience platform is fine. However, this is not the case when the arXiv is used. For instance, see JTCAM9385 for which the list of keywords is "Condensed Matter - Materials Science,Computer Science - Computational Engineering, Finance, and Science". Would it be possible to give some control to the editors of the journal so that the list can be updated manually?

Could be done (if Episciences do it, it would stay only accessible locally). What would be the use for you ? could you describe what you would do with that (and how)?

On arxiv, my understanding is that the list of keywords indicated in the pdf cannot be indicated in the metadata of a deposit: I am not sure but this is what I observe in the paper indicated in the initial message of this thread. From what I see, the keywords corresponding to a deposit are automatically generated by arxiv depending in the research domain of the paper, but authors do not have the ability to indicate their own list of keywords. As a consequence, this list of keywords indicated on the JTCAM webpage does not agree with the one in the pdf. We need to find a way to fix this. (1) Either by asking arxiv to change the way they deal with keywords or (2) by manually adding the list directly on the Episciences platform.

arXiv will change their metadata schema, will will benefit from this to improve the keywords
