Feature request: making editors 'inactive'

Open smilius42 opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

Dear colleagues,

a new feature should be implemented by which an editors can be made 'inactive' by admins and editors-in-chief; this means that she still has her editor rights as usual in the system. But authors cannot choose an inactive editor when they submit a paper (and so inactive editors will not receive new submissions). Of couse, it may be the case that an inactive editor is made 'active' again.

Background: when editors resign from the Editorial Board of LMCS they should finish the submissions which are currently assigned to them, but authors should not be able to choose them for handling a new submission (which in LMCS will automatically be assigned to the chosen editor).

Best regards, Stefan

p.s. I repeat this feature request here; I had previously put this as a ticket in https://support.ccsd.cnrs.fr/SelfService/Display.html?id=134201

Tickets history: Visible/invisible mode for an editor = RT ticket : https://support.ccsd.cnrs.fr/Ticket/Display.html?id=51128 - Cf° the case of a retired editor : Request = chief editors and admins should have the possibility to temporarily mark an editor as 'invisible' and then authors cannot choose that editor when they submit. If ok, add also for the reviewer status. Add a "vacation mode"...(mode "off" or invisible) 02/07 : Add a mode "not available" or choose a period in a calendar, at the profile level
