I just got Hikvision cameras (http://amzn.to/2f8qIYI) and they work great... @arsaboo also had the same make and model... I also got a managed PoE Tough Switch (http://amzn.to/2uOJxSX) along with 500ft Cat5e cable. Works wonders :)
Can you post a still from the camera? I'm curious @skalavala

I would not use a 2.8mm for home. It is good to see a wide angle view, but subjects appear further away and the image is less useful for any kind of recognition, e.g., ALPR or face. I would stick with 4mm or 6mm.
Here's a picture from my 4mm camera
I have Blink camera's installed inside and outside of the house. They work great as well!
I think I decided to go with the ARLO system. Wireless plus they have plenty of AC wire accessories since I have power near MOST eaves. http://amzn.to/2fDEbb4 - AC Charger
http://amzn.to/2vA28nx - 5 Camera system with Siren Alarm
7 Days / 5 Camera free cloud storage. That's Huge!
