  • useless imports
  • use of kotlin features (in operator, kotlin property access)
  • removed unneccessary casts and assertions
  • redundant method calls
  • exceptions made into classes
  • typo fixes & improved language and consistency

some changes might be unwanted, feel free to not commit parts of the PR
